MAci

The world’s first self-charging EV power train at 90% less the costs and 10 times more power density

Maci Automotive announces the launch of a groundbreaking innovation for electric cars.

Butterworth, South Africa. Maci Automotive is celebrating a milestone in the development of a cutting-edge innovation for zero emissions vehicles. After painstaking years of research and development, the Maci team arrived at a single solution that cuts EV battery and E-motor costs by up to 90%, while at the same it puts an end to range anxiety.

The team is raising 250 million dollars of investment to facilitate industrialization of the PowerDrive. Their creative approach to engineering and cutting-edge technology will enable them to compete proactively in global markets. Maci have set themselves deadlines for the PowerDrive production targets. The future of net zero carbon transportation is now.

Problem / Positioning

Electric vehicle battery and electric motor in global markets valued at around USD 148.34 billion and USD 103.21 billion respectively, struggling with high costs, limited range, weight and risk of fire.

Solution

The Maci PowerDrive is the world’s first and only self-charging powertrain for battery electric vehicles, boasting a unique combination of high power density, low costs, lightweight properties and the world’s only 48 volts system for full electric cars.

How It Works

The PowerDrive is a novel transmission that multiplies power using electro-pneumatic elements. It can increase power tenfold at no extra energy. As a result, it enables particularly small motors such as the 48V mild hybrid technology recently introduced in the automotive industry, to power large vehicles in full electric mode. Moreover, it also charges the motor while it runs to eliminate the need for charging.

The PowerDrive is extremely cost-effective because it uses 10% electricity and 90% air, which is the most abundant and the freest resource in the world. It further reduces costs of electric cars by stepping up power and therefore reducing voltage requirements from 400 to just 48 volts.

This is revolutionary in many ways and a breakthrough to the EV industry that has been struggling with bringing the EV costs down due to the high costs of lithium battery and electric motors that cost 33% and 10% of the total production costs of EVs respectively.
In addition to propelling the wheels in a vehicle, it can also be adapted cost-efficiently to turn the wind turbine generator of any size to provide cost-efficient clean energy during load shedding and power cuts.

Benefits Of The Innovation

Prototype

The PowerDrive was developed with the help of dozens of engineers, automotive experts and academics since 2019. The prototype was tested for over 5 months. The dynamometer tests showed amazing results, increasing power by up to 200% at no extra energy.

Competitive Overview

The PowerDrive is the only product in the world that increases power at no extra energy. It therefore has no competition. Instead, it will complement the existing and future powertrain technologies to increase their performance while reducing their size and costs. It can be incorporated into the battery powered motors, the internal combustion engine and the hydrogen engines.
